HGS Encore! Music Fun Day

Wednesday 26th June

26

Jun

The day is for all singers and instrumentalists of approximately Grade 1 standard and above in the following instruments:

• Strings – violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitar

• Woodwind – flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, recorder, saxophone

• Brass – trumpet/cornet, trombone, tuba, French horn

• Percussion: drum kit, tuned percussion, untuned percussion

The Fun Day will be in the style of a workshop, with an emphasis on playing and singing together as an ensemble. We will also have other musical activities throughout the day.

The day will start at 9.30am, but we will be happy to welcome students from 9am. It will take place in the Forum, located in the Sixth Form block. Students will need to bring a packed lunch (please make sure this is nut-free) and a water bottle. Instrumentalists will also need a pencil and a small, collapsible music stand (please make sure this has your child’s name on it). Young musicians from Harrogate Grammar School will work alongside the invited instrumentalists to support them and answer any questions they may have about Music at HGS.

Friends and family are invited to an informal play-through at 3.30pm in the Forum to hear what we have been working on throughout the day, and we will finish by 4pm.

If you would like to register your child for the day, please complete the form below by Tuesday 7 May 2024.
