At Western, we aim to develop kind, ambitious, curious, confident and successful young people who are excited about their futures.

Within a safe and secure nursery environment in Harrogate, our EARLY YEARS aims to nurture happy children, giving them the confidence to explore and experiment.

Our children initiate their own learning through play in our stimulating indoor and outdoor facilities, becoming creative thinkers with opportunities to discover and make sense of our fascinating world.

We offer places to children in our nursery rooms from 2 years old. Led by experienced early years staff, we have two rooms; our Turquoise room for the youngest children and our green room which offers provision for the older two’s and summer born pre-school children.

We offer a varied and sensory curriculum. By offering a key worker system, parents have a dedicated point of contact and are reassured that their children are well cared for and encouraged to learn through their play.

By using the online learning journal Famly throughout nursery, parents and carers, have updates to their child’s learning and interests.

From 3 years, nursery children are entitled to 15 or 30 hours of free nursery education per week.  Please contact the school office office@wes.rklt.co.uk for further information.

We have found that children benefit most when they receive consistent sessions preferably on consecutive days.  Children who have taken just one or two sessions or who have had sessions at opposite ends of the week, in our experience may find it harder to settle and make friends.
